MOUNT ZION CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP CELEBRATES 25 YEARS, COMMISSIONS 55 MEMBERS

MEMBERS OF THE Mount Zion Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group on Sunday 19 November celebrated the grand finale of their 25th anniversary at St Mary’s, Oke-Padi.

Rev. Fr Raphael Agbeje, assistant cathedral administrator, celebrated the Mass. He was assisted by Rev. Fr Anthony Adediran.

Fr. Agbeje, in his homily, encouraged the faithful to make good use of their talents. “My dear friends, all of us have been given talents. How are we making use of them?” he asked.

Many of us fail to identify our talents because we have allowed several worldly vices to overshadow God’s desire in our lives, he said.

“So many of us cannot identify our talents because we did not allow God to direct us. None of us is empty, but we’ve allowed gossip and back-biting to overshadow God’s gifts in our lives. You have something to offer unto God. Don’t wait until you are told.”

While advising the people for commissioning, Fr Agbeje urged them to appreciate the rare opportunity given to them by God and work towards making it effective. ‘It is  an opportunity to share in Christ’s evangelisation. Use your gifts to propagate good news around the world. Be shining lights to others and never allow the devil to stain your garment of glory,” he said.

Thereafter, 20 males and 35 females, who have completed their “Life in the Spirit Seminar,” were commissioned.
