KNIGHTS ORGANISE PRO-LIFE WALK OKE-ADO, IBADAN

THE KNIGHTS AND ladies of St Mulumba of the Ibadan joint sub-councils held a pro-life walk against abortion on Saturday 14 April.

It was part of the events leading to the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Order of Knights in Ibadan.

Speaking on the occasion, Sir Fidelis Fapohunda, Grand Knight, said the walk was organised for the sanctity of life.

“God is the author of life and He doesn’t give us the right to take the life He created. You don’t know what an unborn child can become in life. You might be killing future generations of world and spiritual leaders,” Sir Fidelis said.

The Grand Knight said the awareness programme started with a Lenten retreat.

The one-hour walk, which started at St Theresa College, Oke-Ado, Ibadan,  revolved round the Oke-Ado axis and ended at the starting point.

Other events lined up for the diamond jubilee celebration included quiz competitions, visits to orphanages, Mass and presentation of awards to distinguished personalities including Emeritus Archbishop Alaba Job and Emeritus Bishop Julius Adelakun of Ibadan and Oyo, respectively.

Sir Titus Oduah, chairman of the jubilee celebration planning committee, expressed his gratitude to the members, and thanked God for the success of the walk.
