PEOPLE COME TO church for various reasons  and their minds are  not  in  the  church most especially during the readings,  says  Fr Lawrence Adebisi.

Fr Adebisi, assistant parish priest, SS Peter & Paul, Pro Cathedral, Lagere, Ile Ife, Osun State, on Sunday 12 November, said that some of them would either be sleeping or thinking.

Interacting with the parishioners, he asked them to explain the readings of the day; was he disappointed?

He, however, encouraged Catholics to prepare for the second coming of Jesus Christ and be ready to receive him. One of the preparations expected of you, he said, is obeying God’s commandments most especially that of loving God and fellow neighbour.

Obeying the commandment is a road towards the journey of heaven, he added.

The priest explained that though it is not possible for anyone to be perfect, but one must strive for perfection so as to make heaven. He encouraged Catholics to always be humble so that on the day of reckoning they will not be left behind or denied like the foolish virgins, but be in paradise with Christ like the wise virgins.
