Our Homes should become models of Hospitality

Our Homes should become models of Hospitality

By REV. FR. SAMUEL FREDERICK

Heb. 2:14-18, Mk 1:29-39. On leaving the Synagogue, Jesus in today's Gospel enters the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John and behold they encounter Simon’s mother-in-law, sick with a fever. Jesus heals her and she immediately begins to serve them. This is to teach us that our homes can be models of hospitality and kindness to the needy. God grants us resources so that we may use them for His glory and have them placed at the service of others.

To be at the serve of others is the greatest mission of Christ as recorded in today's first reading. As the High Priest of God, He made the sacrifice of Himself for the sake of all, by His sacrifice on the cross. This is the culmination of the many good works that the Lord Jesus had performed in this world, that He gave everything up for us out of love, even laying down His own life for us and He invites us to do the same.

May our Lord God and Father continue to love us and give us the strength to obey His will, in our every action, word and deed! Amen!! Good morning and do have a great day!!!
